Lena was born and raised in Aleppo. Her grandparents, who were from Western Armenian provinces Urfa and Ayntap emigrated to Syria in 1918. Her grandfather was a tailor and grandmother was a master in embroidery. They passed their skills to their future descendants, who developed them and started to style their own works.

In Aleppo Lena was styling and knitting woolen clothes with wool knitting machine as well as with knitting needles by hand. One of the most wanted desires of Lena was to be in her motherland. So in 2014 she came to Armenia and realized, that her home was here. As she often says, she felt she “came home” and was determined not to ever go back. Lena doesn’t like to speak about difficulties. She finds them normal. In Armenia she does her favorite work. She knits woolen sweaters, jackets and different clothes, admiring everybody with her skillfulness. 35 years of experience gave its results, and now Lena’s sweaters are merely incomparable. Lena had strong ties with the Forty Martyrs Cathedral of Aleppo and served their as “dpruhi”. In Yerevan she found her place in Zoravor Surb Astvatsatsin  Church, created the Syrian Armenian Women’s Union and serves  the church. 

In 2016, at the “Paving the Way for Entrepreneurial Success” Awards, organized by UNHCR, Lena was honored with the “Women Empowerment” award, delivered by the Prime Minister K. Karapetyan. 

She is the organizer and participant of several art exhibitions in Armenia. Lena is a kind of person, whose devotion to the homeland is frank and unconditional.
